Project Summary: Veterans Administration Behavioral Health Center
Development of this 30,000 ft² facility faced a challenge. It was year end and the buyer had to commit to a 30,000 ft² building prior to completion of design work. Modular Solutions, Ltd met with the end users and helped design a conceptual plan, working budget, and G.M.P. for this project in one week. The project has some fun unique features included. The project site was in an earthquake zone so we included necessary structural upgrades to ensure building code compliance for this type of construction. The client wanted to ensure the building would qualify for LEED silver in the future so provisions were included to make this feasible. Some upgrades included a foam roof for additional insulation, a renewable floor covering choice, recycled components ceiling tiles, steel framing, V.C.T, insulation, energy star mechanical units, energy star windows, site facings and solar reflection. Pavers and courtyards were critical elements to include for the owners’ copasetic environment.
Modular Solutions, Ltd completed the job on time and within budget. The VA has since awarded us other projects for performing so well on this task.
