Giving Tuesday is a chance for you to find your passion, and offer financial or time as an investment back into your community. As you go through all of the stresses that life can sometimes throw at you it is often a really great relief to get outside your own challenges and find a way to give back to your community. Some great things to think about this holiday season are housing for the unhoused, food for the hungry, socks/blankets/jackets for cold climates, tutoring a student working through a learning challenge, cleaning the home or mowing the lawn of a senior that is not in good health. If your passion is animals work in a shelter and help feed or walk the animals. If your passion is music share your gift with some kids at a local school or church. If you are blessed financially give a donation to any organization that supports your passion. If you are not sure where to start there are many great ways to find an organization that is reputable and that can help you build on your passion.

How do you get the most from your donation?
- Do you Research – make sure your charity is legitimate and you are on the “official” website if donating a monetary contribution
- Watch out for scammers that look like official charities or spam emails that offer “links” to other sites or possible malicious use of your information
- Verify your contact with the organization and make sure you are not being misled or being placed in a dangerous situation
Follow your heart and look for any opportunity to share your blessings and gifts with those around you. The most amazing possibilities can happen when you open your mind and heart to your community of neighbors and friends.
